Biography :

Dr. Shaodong Guo is Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science at Texas A&M University College. He received his Ph.D in Physiology from Peking University, China. Then he completed his postdoctoral research training in Genetics, Biochemistry, and Medicine in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Harvard University, respectively. Dr. Guo was an Instructor in Medicine at Children's Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School for two years prior to joining the faculty at Texas A&M Health Science Center. Currently, Dr. Guo serves as senior editor for the Journal of Endocrinology and Journal of Molecular Endocrinology, two major official journals of Endocrine Society of Europe, UK, and Australia, and he is the textbook chapter writer for Metabolic Syndrome edited by Rexford Ahima and published by Springer in 2016. Dr. Guo lab research focuses on insulin/glucagon and estrogen signal transduction, insulin resistance, gene transcriptional control of nutrient homeostasis, and cardiac dysfunction in diabetes. Dr. Guo has been working on the gene transcriptional regulation of metabolic homeostasis by insulin receptor substrate proteins (IRS) and Forkhead FoxO transcription factors and he has been funded by American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Heart Association, and the National Institute of Health of USA. He is a recipient of ADA junior faculty award, career development award, and Richard R. Lee Award. His work has been published in a number of journals including the JBC, Endocrinology, Hypertension, Diabetes, Circulation Research, AJP, MCB, and Nature Medicine, receiving more than 5,000 citations from the Google Scholar.

Prof.Dr.Václav Bunc, PhD graduated from Technical University Prague, professor in the Exercise Physiology from Charles University Prague Main topics: application of mathematical methods and models in PE and sport, using of biocybernetics by evaluation of physical fitness, exercise physiology, obesity reduction, functional and physical testing in laboratory and field, body composition, BIA methods, moving regimes for prevention in cardiac and obese patients. Publications: first author more than 400 items in scientific Journals, more than 150 abroad, practically the same number of publications as co-author. Referee of scientific papers with topics of physical fitness, exercise physiology and obesity. He is member of Czech and International scientific societies, head of many research projects, author of the great numbers of research reports.

Dr Rashmi Dixit is a paediatric and adult infectious diseases specialist with an interest in metabolic medicine and the interaction between communicable and non-communicable diseases. She has completed a second fellowship in Travel and Tropical Medicine, in which her dissertation was on Obesity in Colonised Populations and Developing Countries, which was published in a peer-reviewed journal, and has published several first author papers. She has completed a PhD at the University of Sydney on Influenza in Vulnerable Populations, which examined the role of metabolic risk factors for severe influenza in Indigenous Australians.

Maha Abdelrahman Mowafy is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine responsible for the research committee in department at the Cairo University. She has more than seven years of experience in working with international organizations in the area of health development, adolescent and reproductive health. She is presently holding an MD degree in Family Medicine and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She obtained Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and in Total Quality Management -Health Care. She received certificate in Management of Maternal and Child Health - Economic of Health Care and Economic Development by American University in Cairo. She attended program in Research Ethics in University of Maryland-USA to be certified as an international research ethics trainer.

Dr. Sharon Phelan lectures in Physical Education and Dance at the Institute of Technology, in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland. She has danced with Siamsa Tire, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland, for over twenty-five years and she is a National Facilitator in Dance with the Department of Education. Sharon was responsible for the first dance syllabus at second level in Ireland and she has also published internationally on dance, from educational, artistic and cultural perspectives. In 2014, her book, ‘Dance in Ireland: Steps, Stages and Stories’ was published by Cambridge Scholars Press. Her current areas of interest include supervision of dance research at masters and at doctoral levels and the use of distance learning in dance in third level. She is also completing another book, which focuses on dance-in-education from an all-inclusive perspective.

Mehmet Emre Atabek has completed his PhD from Erciyes University and Post-doctoral studies from Selcuk University School of Meram Medicine. He is the Director of Pediatric Endocrinology, a premier Pediatric Endocrinolgy and Diabetology service organization. He has published more than 120 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an Editorial Board Member of repute. He has been interested in searching metabolic problems of obese children in most of his articles. His articles have been cited more than 1100 citations by another article in Web of Science so far. He continues to work as Head of the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology, Necmettin Erbakan University.

Responsibility

The organizers holds no responsibilities or liabilities of the personal articles of attendees at the venue against any kind of theft, lost, damage, due to any reason whatsoever. Delegates are entirely responsible for the safety of their own belongings.

Insurance

No insurance, of any kind, is included along with the registration in any of the events of the organization.

Transportation

Please note that transportation and parking is the responsibility of the registrant, Allied Academies will not be liable for any actions howsoever related to transportation and parking.

Press/Media

Press permission must be obtained from Allied Academies Conference Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The Allied Academies is an objective third-party nonprofit organization and this conference is not associated with any commercial meeting company.

Requesting an Invitation Letter

For security purposes, letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference after payment of complete registration fee. Once registration is complete, please contact euroobesity@alliedconferences.org to request for a personalized letter of invitation, if not received until one month before the scheduled date of event.

All the bank charges applicable during refund will be deducted from the account of participant.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to finance@alliedacademies.com

If, due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event on the scheduled date, the participant is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within period of one year from the date of rescheduling.

Postponement of event

If, due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event and the participant is unable or unwilling to attend the conference on rescheduled dates, he/she is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within period of one year from the date of rescheduling. 

Transfer of registration

All registrations, after payment of complete registration fee, are transferable to other persons from the same organization, if in case the person is unable to attend the event. Request for transfer of registration must be made by the registered person in writing to finance@alliedacademies.com. Details must include the full name of replaced new registrant, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied academies if the person is unable to attend one of conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if intimated within 14 days of respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues are not covered under the cancellation policy of Allied academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy:

If the registrant is unable to attend, and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund policies apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overhead charges, following Refund Policy Orders are available:

  • Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund after deduction of $100 towards service Fee.
  • Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund
  • Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund
  • E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy:

Accommodation Service Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies which are applicable when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. If in case the registrant wishes to cancel or amend the accommodation, he/ she is expected to inform the organizing authorities on a prior basis. Allied academies will advise the registrant to ensure complete awareness about the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancellation or modification of their booking.
